Books

I currently have 5 ebooks available for purchase through Apple’s iTunes or Books. Click on the thumbnails below to find out more information about each book. There are some samples from each book to see as well. My books were crafted with care and have the highest quality images available. I often worked for weeks and sometimes months just to make one picture. I took so long because I wanted to make sure that everything looked exactly as it should. You won’t find any ukiyo-e books or books that feature Zhang Lu’s paintings out there with images that are as high of quality as mine anywhere. All of my books have images that are crisper, cleaner and have more vibrant colors than even the originals from which they are based on. I created them all digitally from scratch so that I would have more control over the quality. Other books use images that are copies of a copy which simply can’t compete with my images in terms of quality. I encourage you to compare my images to other images of the same thing and you’ll immediately see the difference. If you are an ukiyo-e, Zhang Lu, or a Denslow fan, you will love the images in my books because they allow you see details that were difficult and sometimes impossible to see before.  

As many ukiyo-e prints are old and are printed not painted with oils, they are more susceptible to the ravages of time more so than oil paintings. Zhang Lu’s paintings too were done using ink and not oil paint so they too suffer from some of the same issues that ukiyo-e prints suffer from. Many of the famous original ukiyo-e prints and Zhang Lu’s paintings that mine are based on have different kinds of damage whether it be water damage, fading caused by overexposure to light, tears, creases, mold, and other issues depending on the print or painting. If any damages were present I took time to remove or correct any issues that were caused by outside factors.  My prints don’t suffer from any of the imperfections or blemishes that affect many of the original ukiyo-e prints or Zhang Lu’s paintings but my versions still maintain the same feel and style of the originals. 

I know not everyone has an Apple device and no doubt the question of whether or not I’ll be selling my books on Amazon will come up. It is possible that sometime in the future I might have my books for sale on Amazon but unfortunately for now I only have them available through Apple.
