Sharaku Portraits

Sharaku Portraits is my second book and it came about while I was working on my first book, The New 36 Views of Mountain Fuji. While his name and prints aren’t as well known as Hokusai’s are, Sharaku’s prints are quite famous. For those who don’t know, Sharaku is one of the great unsolved mysteries in the art world.  No one knows for sure who Sharaku really was but that hasn’t stopped people trying to figure it out. Sharaku’s prints are wonderful and the mystery surrounding his true identity just make them even more appealing. In my book I have included all of this famous portrait prints plus a few other drawings based on his other works. I also cover some of the more popular theories of who might have really been Sharaku. Keep in mind that the examples seen here are sample images. The images found in my books are of an even higher quality.
